| Grammy's Pregnancy Memory |
|
I am a Mom of 6 and Grammy of 14. Its been a long time since my pregnancy days, but I still get a laugh from remembering! I grew up on a lake and water skied daily during the summer. But when I got pregnant my family decided that I had to stop. It just about killed me to sit on the shore and watch everyone else have fun. So two uncles came up with a plan to help me out. They took an old wooden kitchen chair and shortened the legs, then attached it to some water skis. Then they wrapped me in a life jacket, sat me in the chair and handed me the tow rope...and off we went! It was working beautifully and I was having a ball...until I leaned too far forward...ZIP. Right to the bottom I went. No problem, right? I had on a life jacket. The only problem was that the force of the water coming at me held me glued to the chair.I couldn't twist or turn to get out of it! I was pretty sure I would drown before the line went slack and I could get away. My uncles were as scared as I was by the time I popped to the top. As you can imagine, that was the end of my water sking. I was doomed to be towed around in a tube all summer! It didn't hurt me or my son, thankfully, and by the time he was 14 months old he was swimming like a fish! He is now 39 and says he must have remembered his brush with drowning and decided he'd better get his fins early! I hope you have a happy pregnancy and many laughs!
