Timing is Everything.

My husband and I decided that we would have our second child at home.  We spent the last couple of weeks before my due date preparing everything as we felt I may go into labour a bit early like I did with my first.

During this time our washing machine broke.  Obviously this is rather important to have with a toddler and new born baby due any day!  So I called and made arrangements for the repair man to come.

Wouldn't you know it, I went into labour the morning he was to come and repair the machine.  I knew it would be a few days before they could reschedule as this happened on a Friday so I told my husband not to cancel it. Of course my inlaws were on their way already and I phoned my mother to tell her that it was the big day so the house was full of people when the repair man arrived.

I can imagine the look on his face as he tried to explain to my husband about the repairs and the cost for them only to have my husband tell him that he didn't really have time as his wife was giving birth upstairs!  My husband gave my mother a blank cheque and told her to just fill it in for whatever the cost was, he didn't care, he had a baby about to arrive any minute.

I still laugh thinking about the story that repairman went home with that day and at least we could do our laundry that day. :D
